Job Advert

We are looking for someone to join our Support Living services in Aberystwyth and Llanfihangel Y Creuddyn on a permanent and full time (37.5 hours a week) basis. Shifts will be spread across mornings, afternoons, evenings and sleep ins, weekends and bank holidays.  There are various shift patterns which cover week days, weekends, evenings and sleep ins.

About the Services

The Service supports a lady and two gentlemen. There will be times that the support worker will need to support in an additional service which currently has one gentlemen living in. The Service is a 20 minute drive from Aberystwyth. All of the people you will be supporting to live independently own their own cars and want their new Support Worker to help them feel confident and safe.

The lady we support understands when communicating in English but her first language is Welsh so she tends to engage better when speaking Welsh.  She likes attending musicals and shows, going to visit family, pampering  sessions such as nail painting, reflexology, foot spa and shopping for new clothes.

One gentlemen enjoys visiting zoo’s or any animal related venues, watching Laurel and Hardy films and is also a big Dr Who fan! Other interests include art, bowling, TC bingo and playing the drums. He will need his new Support Worker to give prompts to remind him of sequencing daily tasks.

The other gentlemen we support loves his car and is very proud of having one. He enjoys football (attends football training once a week), rugby, snooker and swimming. He is looking for his new Support Worker to drive him to football training, matches, tournaments and other activities at the weekend. His other interests include gardening and feeding the birds and other wildlife in the garden.  He also enjoys going to Cornwall once a year.

Within the other Service you may provide cover in you will be supporting a gentlemen who likes to take a slower approach in life.  He enjoys snooker, watching or attending the festival of remembrance, watching the proms at the Royal Albert Hall, and listening to opera. He also enjoys following political current events, watching detective programmes and game shows.
