Job Description

An exciting opportunity for an undergraduate student of accountancy and finance has arisen to join our team for a 48 week placement as a Commercial Finance Assistant.

The successful candidate must be a student on a relevant undergraduate degree in accountancy and finance.

Main responsibilities
  • To provide support in all commercial and financial areas, including but not limited to analysis, reporting, control and risk management.
  • Support analysis of month end results by site and work with operations teams on action plans
  • Be involved in posting monthly stock and bond sales and performing food and bond reconciliations
  • Support commercial finance team in bids by creating solution costing for bids and overall financial models and pricing for client submission
  • To work with segment finance to analyse results and to work with technical services team to manage project costing and billing
  • To support the build and maintenance service line costing capabilities in conjunction with Commercial Finance Manager, to include labour, materials, other direct expenses and any other attributable costs
  • To support the creation of specific costing models and link these to standard Sodexo P&L and populate client pricing schedules
  • To help identify the root cause(s) of poor or sub-optimal performance, developing solutions to sustainably improve performance
  • Help manage robust budget and forecasting processes across the business: identifying issues and opportunities and ensuring the FD and senior management teams have plans in place to address them
  • Support the understanding of synergies driven by offering multiple services
  • Ensure best practise, robust commercial standards are established and promoted at all times
  • To contribute to the success and profitability of Sodexo

  • To maintain and develop internal client relationships
Ideal candidate

Essential

  • Studying an undergraduate accountancy and finance degree
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Strong commercial acumen, willing and able to challenge accepted practices and processes.
  • Good communication skills
  • Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Working to and meeting deadlines
  • Disciplined with a strong orientation towards processes and procedures
