A well-resourced SEN school in Newham is looking for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA). As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) you will be taking the time to get to know the stories of newly enrolled pupils and integrate them into the school and their classes. Pupils here will have a range of social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, including trauma and anxiety. You’ll lead interventions on a 1:1 and small-group basis, ideally using CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), so a background and/or qualification in psychology or a related field will be beneficial.

£85-£95 per day, dependent on experience and qualifications

Long-term, part-time

The successful Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) will:

Have a positive attitude and dedication to provide the best care for SEN pupils

Have a patient, empathetic and resilient nature

Have good SEN experience, especially of social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs

Enjoy working in collaborative team

Have a background or keen interest in psychology and mental health. Qualification(s) are ideal but not necessary

Hold an Enhanced valid DBS and references
