The Space Operations Manager role is based within our Mission Systems business area.

The role

The difference our new Space Operations Manager will make

As a Space Operations Manager you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. As our Service Operations Manager, you'll have a key role that's out of the ordinary. Supporting vital MILSATCOM Service Delivery Operations. Accountable for day-to-day operations ensuring smooth transition and a high standard of service availability. Reporting to the senior leadership team, you'll also be the point of escalation and resolution for service delivery. This is a challenging role in a fast paced, ever evolving environment.

Day to day, you'll deliver 24/7 year-round MILSATCOM service availability; represent Babcock operational teams at stakeholder meetings and governance forums; be accountable for the overall team performance and responsible for ensuring continual service improvement; and also, be accountable for the KPI performance to monitor operational effectiveness. You'll support the development and introduction of fit-for-purpose operational processes, standards and policies.

Essential experience
Demonstratable experience in a management position in the defence or telecommunication industry, ideally MILSATCOM but not essential.
Demonstratable experience of operations management in multi-disciplined environment.
Experience in managing ITIL v3 and/or V4 based service management structure.
Project delivery and proven bid wins within defence.
