Are you a committed Sous Chef with a real passion for fresh food and experience working in a high-volume and quality operation?

This is a hands on Sous Chef role in Esher where you will work alongside the Head Chef to manage the kitchen with a brigade of around 9 chefs & 3 kitchen porters. You will be involved in the preparation of food, training & development of the junior Chefs and ultimately driving the business forward.

This site is a part of a small group 8 independently owned Pubs, located in the Surrey area.  Each of the pubs has been carefully chosen and sympathetically restored, with quality interiors and beautiful gardens, casual enough to be comfortable, smart enough to feel special.

The Role:
  • To prepare and present food to meet the required standard 
  • To deputise for the Head Chef
  • To assist the head chef with menu ideas
  • To ensure the work area is kept clean and tidy
  • To train the junior chefs
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 2 or equivalent or relevant kitchen experience
  • Previous experience in a gastro pub or fresh food kitchen
  • Willingness to learn and progress
  • Great communication skills and ability to work well within a team
  • A great leader who can take this operation forward
