Here at Babcock International, we are looking for a Sourcing Officer, to join our team as part of the Defence Support Group based at Donnington. In this role, you will be identifying the most efficient suppliers, to support the procurement of items required by the various workshops needed for Vehicle Maintenance and Servicing. This position reports into the Sourcing Manager. Moreover, this will include interacting with various stakeholders, such as the wider DE&S (Defence Equipment and Support) community which includes the Engineering, Workshops, Quality, Trade and Controls teams.

Who we are looking for?

We are looking for an individual who has the desire to enter or who is in the early stages of a career within procurement / supply chain / commercial. Great communication skills will allow for the effective stakeholder management, alongside building strong relationships. A keen attention to detail will build a foundation for creative thinking and planning which will facilitate the most effective outcomes and will also assist in the successful completion of other associated technical administration tasks.

What will you be doing?

Run RFQs to source goods and services to satisfy emergency material requirement to support workshop delivery activity.
Contract Amendments, minute writing, Trade Control documents and SAP Agreement management.
Understanding required in relation to planned orders of ERP system for demands of and assess their importance in line with business priority directives.
Commercial and cost negotiation with Suppliers to resolve issues and deliver value for money
Identify risks during the process and escalate appropriately to ensure risk is managed and mitigated
Maintain adherence to the Sourcing Processes and escalate roadblocks to the Sourcing Manager in order to properly manage any gaps in supply.

The experience you'll bring

CIPS L4 (or working towards / desire to achieve)
Excel Proficient
Commercial Experience or Background (desirable)
SAP experience (desirable - not essential as training is provided)
UK Driving License & Willingness to Travel as and when required
Ability to hold or obtain SC (Security Clearance) is essential
