Our client is currently seeking a specialist Sourcing Manager; working for the UK's largest water and Wastewater Company on a permanent basis.

You will develop innovative and compelling sourcing solutions that deliver best value for our business and proactively engage with both internal and external stakeholders. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams through the procurement process in order to implement recommendations that deliver robust and sustainable sourcing solutions.

It is essential to have the ability to challenge the status quo whilst offering value driven alternatives that deliver positive outcomes.

This role at our client's head office in central Reading, minutes from Reading train station. We are offering a salary of up to £48,000, depending on skills and experience, plus additional benefits.

This role will involve

Sourcing Projects: The sourcing manager will lead strategy development for specific sourcing projects as allocated by the business partner whilst ensuring that projects are delivered on time, achieving optimum risk allocation, best value and fulfilling customers' expectations. They will create compelling and innovative sourcing strategies which challenge current ways of working whilst delivering the best value to the business. A key part of the role is leading a multi-disciplinary team through the procurement process with full customer engagement and following our sourcing methodology. The sourcing manager will demonstrate that the following are effectively considered and managed through each initiative: sustainability, innovation, risk management, collaboration, health and safety and well-being.

Stakeholder Management: The sourcing manager will implement stakeholder engagement plans at an individual level and participate in team level stakeholder engagement plans over a long period of time in a complex stakeholder environment.

Communication: Creation of compelling, well-structured documents and presentations is an essential part of the role as well as effectively delivering these to all levels of the business (both internally and externally). The sourcing manager will build deep and trusting relationships with key stakeholders with an ability to engage and influence at senior levels.

Data Analytics: The sourcing manager will work with the business analysts, suppliers and third parties on the information gathering process to collect all internal and external and efficiently manage spend, risk and prepare a comprehensive category profile.

Negotiation: The sourcing manager will apply a creative and agile approach to negotiation in order to deliver outcome (not cost) focused solutions whilst independently leading complex and sometimes challenging negotiations to a successful conclusion. Thinking creatively about variables that can be traded to optimise the outcome for the client as part of a full negotiation plan/strategy is key.

What skills are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will be a resilient, tenacious, self-starter with outstanding commercial awareness and hunger for best value. You will ideally be experienced in working on projects with a keen analytical mind and excellent Excel and Powerpoint skills; you will be able to show examples of an ability to think creatively to solve complex challenges with low levels of definition.

On the projects you have worked on you will have experience of stakeholder engagement within a complex multi-site environment, you may have worked on projects where you have had to be proactive in resolving potential difficulties and overcoming barriers.

Experience of building trust with customers and stakeholders through their interactions, you will be comfortable in a position of responsibility with the confidence to make decisive, informed decisions.

It would be desirable if you have a wealth of commercial experience in a multi-stakeholder and multi-site environment, proficient in all aspects of the 'Strategic Sourcing Cycle', Knowledge of standard industry contract forms e.g. NEC and IChemE, Good educational achievement to Degree level or equivalent e.g. CIPS
