Smile Leadership Ltd are currently working in an exclusive partnership with a highly sought-after Birmingham (B4 6AT) sixth form college to assist them in their permanent recruitment drive for September 2021. This Birmingham (B4 6AT) based, outstanding college has rapidly grown over the last 5 years and there continues to be consistent opportunities for both experienced and newly qualified teachers to progress in their careers. Smile Leadership Ltd is a sister company to Smile Education who are a leading education recruitment agency and we are working on this post in as an extension of their HR team.

We are currently searching for a Sociology and Criminology teacher for a permanent role to begin from September 2021. This job role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis. If you have experience as a qualified Sociology and Criminology teacher or will be a newly qualified Sociology and Criminology teacher available from September 2021, we would like to hear from you. Smile Leadership Ltd work under the umbrella of Smile Education who are a leading education recruitment agency and are working on the post in partnership with the Trust.

The majority of the provision at this sixth form is Level 3; A-levels and the BTEC Extended Diploma. They also offer a number of Level 2 qualifications delivered to post-16 students and their small amount of Level 1 provision is delivered by specialist teachers, as is their Adult Learning provision. The senior leaders and staff at this college promote high levels of respect and as such do not have the same restrictions as schools. Students are free to leave the grounds on free periods and Ofsted have commented that behaviour of the students is exemplary.

The setting has strong links with their surrounding community including local secondary schools. They can fully support NQT’s who have trained in Secondary but wish to secure a role in their sixth form with their NQT year. An arrangement can be made for you to complete any required NQT placements in one of the many secondary schools the college has a relationship with, and the setting has introduced new, innovative procedures to allow for Covid-19 safety measures.

To be successful in your application, you should have experience in one or more of the following:

Hold a relevant UK teaching qualification
Knowledge of the Sociology and Criminology subject at either BTEC or A Level
Able and willing to travel to the Birmingham area
Exceptionally dedicated to supporting pupils with their future careers
