Highways Supervisor - Shropshire (TMC)

Matchtech are excited to be working alongside a major Highways and Civils contractor in Shropshire, and as result we have a live opportunity for an experienced Supervisor.

Based out of the Oswestry depot, you will be working in the Shropshire Region and reporting to Service Delivery Managers. In this exciting role you, will be responsible for the supervision, planning, health and safety of site teams for Reactive, routine, minor works, schemes, ensuring works are delivered safely and on budget and to delivery target dates. The successful candidate will need to be available if required for winter service and Emergency OOH’s.

Your responsibilities:

* Effective planning, programming & delivery of programme of works

* Achievement of Company and Contractual KPI’s

* Achievement of, and year-on-year improvement of Contract/Scheme KPI’s

* Ensure change controls are diligently managed on site

* H & S – Zero accidents and environmental incidents

* Undertake safety site inspections of all works minimum 4 per month

* Effectively manage site teams to ensure career progression and competency is achieved

* Work collaboratively with the Health, Safety & Wellbeing advisor to promote best practice across the contract

* Ensure all health and safety standards are being adhered too across the contract - 5 SHE Basics - 10 steps to safe excavation – SSOW/RA/POWRA

* Ensure training qualifications and competence requirements are in place and monitored for all employees within their team

* Collaborate with all supply-chain to improve Health and Safety Standards & Best practice

* Undertake investigations

* Ensure the CDM regulations 2015 principle contractor responsibilities are being adhered too across all works

* Ensure environmental processes and best practice across the contract

* Ensure all supply-chain RAMS are reviewed and signed off prior to any working instruction

* Ensure traffic management compliance

* Ensure all group & contract Health & Safety briefings are delivered to teams, signed off and loaded to SharePoint

* Ensure Covid-19 compliance across contract

* Promote Near miss reporting

* Collaborate, promote and develop Health, Safety and wellbeing innovations

* Report incidents/accidents in-line with the Golden hour process

* Celebrate good practice and business statistics/results across the contract and wider business

What our client is looking for?

A certificate in Site Safety Management (attended 5-day course – SMSTS / SSSTS)

Experience in construction and all highways works

Experience in Highways Maintenance at a supervisory level

A valid UK driving licence

NRSWA Supervisor card

Knowledge of Fleet Management

Knowledge of O Licence compliance

LGV licence and City and Guilds 6159

Winter maintenance service

Excel/PC literate
