Site Manager
An interesting position has become available for a Site Manager to work with an important company who are at the forefront of their field based in the Swindon, Wiltshire area.
As Site Manager you will be reporting to National General Manager with the following responsibilities:
Role Overview
Overall leadership of the warehouse operations for the 2 sites in Swindon including performance, people, safety and culture.
*Create, through effective leadership a site culture that results in an engaged team that is focused on development and improvement.
*Plan, implement, manage and control all areas of the warehouse operations and costs.
*Set, agree and manage objectives and KPI's with direct reports to achieve a 'best in class' operation.
*Define and execute the vision for the warehouse operations by working closely with the National General Manager and Supply Chain.
*Manage all assets and activities within the scope of the operation through clearly communicated processes and KPI's to achieve SLA requirements.
*Measure and review performance against company and customer KPI's and implement appropriate actions to seek continuous improvement.
*Create, through effective leadership and clearly defined processes, an operationally robust programme for building 'world class' health and safety standards

Key Responsibilities
*To effectively manage and develop your team through regular communication and review.
*To ensure there is effective two-way communication in place at all levels of your areas of responsibility.
*Promote a safety-first culture and ensure that all aspects of warehouse operation always comply with current H&S legislation or the Company H&S policy.
*Manage all areas of warehouse expenditure within your control and ensure these are in line with budget or that variances can be fully explained and justified.
*To ensure all stock within control of the warehouse teams is managed and maintained to required standards.
*To ensure all processes within the warehouse operation are maintained and people trained and managed to operate to them.
*Ensure the warehouse team is operating to required standards of service, operation and compliance at all times.
*Work with the National General Manager to prepare annual cost budgets for all aspects of warehouse operation within your control.
*Own the relationship with all warehouse service partners and ensure they meet expected standards of service, reporting and communication.
*Ensure there is sufficient, skilled resource in place to meet the needs of the business at all times and a clear pathway for people to develop.
*Identify any areas of non-conformance or opportunities for improvement within the warehouse operation and plan/implement actions to deliver these into normal operational procedure.
*Give direction to the warehouse management team and delegate appropriately to them.
*To promote and encourage effective inter-departmental co-operation and understanding.
*Support the National General Manager with tasks and projects as required to ensure the good running of the DC.
*Contribute towards strategic discussion and projects with regards to the DC operations specifically and supply chain in general.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge
*Previous experience of managing a large warehouse operation with a track record of success is essential, Minimum 5 year's experience
*Excellent people management skills.
*Good attention to detail and the ability to analyse data and interpret the information effectively to continuously improve the department and/or team.
*Previous experience of managing multiple improvement projects that delivered tangible results is essential.
*IT literate with knowledge of WMS systems.
*Able to manage sub contracted distribution partners with regards to price, service and communication.
*Knowledge of relevant H&S, HR legislation and good practice.
*CPC Preferable

Other Information
Travel requirementTravel maybe required, depending on needs of the business.
Working hours Basic 40 hours per week however flexibility required according to business demands
