Job Description

Shift Supervisor

We are looking to recruit 3 x Shift Supervisors to work on site at one of the UK's leading Covid-19 Megalabs. The Shift Supervisors shall be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the labs on any given shift, which can include both day and night, can also include weekends. The ideal candidates should display experience and expertise in detailed planning, incredibly attentive man management and resourcing skills within their professional careers. Further day to day duties shall include;

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the laboratories policies and applicable laws
Manage and organise staff placement per shift, work closely with the wider Laboratory team including Chief Lab Scientist and the Biomedical Scientist Leads to support the running of all patient testing
Managing the shift including responsibility for the effective and successful management of productivity, and quality control
Ensure any accidents, incidents and near-misses are correctly reported to the H&S officer
Ensuring consistent, fair and productive management of people
Enhancing the operational procedure, systems, and principles in the areas of information flow and management
Responsibilities may include planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing employee performance and corrective action plans
Inputting to strategic planning and reviews, analysing process workflow, employee and space requirements and implementing necessary changes
Managing relationships with key stakeholders and senior managementAdditional desired experience and skills includes;

Scientific or laboratory experience
Managing teams towards high levels of productivity and quality assurance targets
Display strong decision-making skills and the ability to forecast any potential issues and plan ahead
Excellent communication skills and the team-working skills
Strong organisational skills and ability to work within a large team environmentWe are currently looking for candidates who are available immediately but would consider those on a short notice period. Must be able to commute to Leamington Spa.
