The difference our new Service Engineering Manager will make

As a Service Engineering Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. As our company grows, we want to help and learn from each other in a supportive and relaxed environment with the main aim of delivering high quality products. You will work collaboratively with the Service Delivery Manager, Service Design Authorities (SDA), Programme Manager and Chief Engineer to ensure that the services Babcock provides to its customers consistently deliver against contract and quality Key Performance Indicators (KPI).

Day to day, you'll be accountable for technically leading the Service Engineering function, ensuring all aspects of in-service support is conducted safely and efficiently to meet system KPIs and for maintaining the design baseline of in-service systems, discharged through Service Design Authorities, ensuring change and configuration control is maintained at all times. You'll chair routine Change Advisory Boards. You'll lead technical interactions with the customer and Front-Line Commands and you'll work in lockstep with the Lead Solution Architect, Transition Manager and Project Management teams to ensure the safe and seamless integration of new capabilities across all DLODs. You'll liaise with Lead Solution Architect, SDAs, Transition Manager and Service Delivery Manager to always ensure service continuity in accordance with customer needs and be accountable for the engineering solution and delivery aspects of customer change.

Essential experience
A pro-active Engineering Manager with a theoretical and practical engineering background.
A proven track record of leading successful engineering teams, focussing on in-service support / maintenance and change management
Demonstrable engineering service delivery and management experience
Experience leading geographically diverse maintenance teams
Knowledge of Military BLOS Communications systems
Knowledge of UK MoD practices and ways of working
