We are looking for a talented commercially astute Senior Supplier Manager with procurement expertise. You'll deliver excellent customer service and manage key relationships with suppliers. You'll be involved in financial reporting, ensuring that payments are correct and build good relationships with suppliers.

You'll help manage 220 suppliers, and your role will shape and influence decisions which have a real impact on our digital transformation.

Ideally you will come from a FTSE or SME background preferably with a digital background and financial management.

Our Supplier Management Team for Health and Working Age play a central role in supporting the commercial lifecycle and supplier relationships on behalf of the Delivery teams.

We lead on sourcing, working with Commercial colleagues on procurement and contracting, governance and supplier management activities to ensure contracts deliver value for money and comply with both internal governance and legislative requirements.

We make sure that the contracts and suppliers are in place to deliver exactly what our teams need to transform and modernise products and services used by millions.

What will I do as a Supplier Manager in DWP?

You'll work with an array of stakeholders to ensure project teams within DWP

have the necessary commercial agreements in place to provide vital digital services to internal and external users on a significant scale, developing solutions which improve user experience and deliver DWP's policies.

As a Senior Supplier Manager, you will manage the team from establishing requirements and planning future demand right through to procurement. You'll work closely with DWP's Commercial experts to lead on the delivery of more complex procurements and negotiations.

You will manage the resource and non-resource Cost Models for some procurements, providing financial management and reporting. You will also lead on stakeholder management and issue resolution.

Within DWP Digital we have introduced a Contract Management training and accreditation framework. Anyone working in our Supplier Management roles undertakes at least the foundation level learning and accreditation.

What skills and experience are we looking for?

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with and influence senior stakeholders across the business
Proactive in taking the initiative and ownership of their work and leading a team to deliver effective results and a quality service.
Commercially minded with experience of achieving value for money.
The ability to critically assess problems and lead with delivering a timely resolution.
