Senior Sous Chef - Goring - Foodie Pub - £35,000 Package

I am looking for a senior sous chef to join the team at a foodie pub in Goring.  You will need to be a chef of exceptional quality to work alongside the chef patron.  Ideal candidates will have experience working at a senior level in Michelin star or 3AA Rosette and above establishments.

The Pub:
A Large 18th Century Inn close to the Thames with a cosy bar area, large dining room and an outside terrace.  Dishes range from homemade sausage rolls to poached lobster salad.  The homemade bread and desserts are a highlight.  Previously a winner of the Waitrose good food guide restaurant of the year award.  The hotel has 13 en suite bedrooms with a blend of modern furnishings and original features.

The Owners:
The owners took over the pub back in spring of 2014 and have been building the businesses reputation up.  Together they bring a love of France and French hospitality alongside a wealth of experience from the most acclaimed of British restaurants.  Having both been a part of the Fat Duck group and working directly under Heston Blumenthal.

The Menu:
The menus focus on the core dish ingredients, the main flavours, because that's at the heart of every dish they create.  Savouring flavours and the freshest of ingredients is what they want to harness in their cooking.  They want to return the treat and experience element to eating out to their guests.  They are a warm and welcoming inn serving fine modern British food.   They might not be a pub, nor a gastropub, but we firmly believe in providing an informal and unpretentious place to eat.

They update their sample menus at regular intervals to reflect seasonal changes in the menus.

The Sous Chef will:
  • Be classically trained and experienced within a Michelin Star or 2AA Rosette Level restaurant.
  • Manage a team alongside the Chef Patron.
  • Be an amazing team player, being of support to the entire brigade
  • Be very hands and happy to help anyhow.
  • Be passionate and ambitious.
  • Be flexible with hours and tasks.
  • Maintain a can-do and problem-solving attitude.
  • Passionate about high standards and have great eye for detail.

The Benefits:
In return for your hard work and efforts you can expect to receive a basic salary in the range of £28,000 to £30,000 dependant of experience and background. 

You will be given the opportunity to take the lead in the owner's absence and create your own dishes for the menu, using the best ingredients available.  

Along with a handsome share of tips you can expect to receive a performance related bonus against set KPI's. 

There is the potential for a short term live in solution to assist with relocation.
