The Senior Safety Engineer role is based within our Submarine Support Engineering business area.

The difference our new Senior Safety Engineer will make
As a Senior Safety Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This is your opportunity to make a real impact in support of the operational capability of the nation's nuclear submarine fleet and the continuous nuclear deterrent by joining our Submarine Support Engineering group and lead on the delivery of Safety engineering tasks.
Day to day, you'll lead on safety management tasking of high technical complexity, develop and mentor less experienced individuals within the group and provide technical assurance of safety and environmental contractual outputs, who won't be phased by changing priorities as we move forward into the future. Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline;
Self-motivated and possess excellent communication skills, with a demonstrable record of presenting professional outputs both verbally and in writing;
CEng accredited with the Engineering Council or IEng and actively progressing application towards Chartership;
Project Management experience with a relevant Project Management qualification is desirable;
Safety and Environmental Management Training (SEMT) is considered an advantage
You will need to satisfy security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
