Job Description

Network Healthcare is currently recruiting for Senior Social Workers/Senior Practitioners to be based in the Children in Need Team within Children Services, Harrow. This is a full time permanent position and an excellent opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to take the next step in their career.

Harrow place vulnerable children, young people and families firmly at the heart. Staffed by an expert multi-agency team the single front door receives all contacts and referrals for all early intervention and targeted children's services provided or commissioned by the council. This continues to build on our ground-breaking early experience as a Metropolitan Police pilot. The Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub helps ensure all partners share information quickly and act together to keep children safe.

Harrow's commitment is evidence based, reflective practice. They continue to actively explore the Reclaiming Social Work approach, including involvement with partners through DfE Innovation Projects.
Staff work in multi-disciplinary Teams Around the Family in early help/early intervention services. Families have rapid access to services tailored to their needs with the most vulnerable fast tracked to the help they need. Harrow's Children's Centres continue to deliver parent support and early help and are particularly effective in reaching some of the most vulnerable families.

Situated in the North West of the capital, ten miles from central London, Harrow borders the surrounding countryside with a high proportion of green space; one fifth of Harrow's total area is green belt land.
Based firmly within Children Services, the main purpose of the role is to act as the allocated Social Worker for Children subject to Children in Need plans and to complete assessments including those in need of protection, children looked after, those subject to public care proceedings and, where directed by the Court, children subject to private law proceedings. The average caseload is currently 18. In addition to this, the Senior Social Worker will be responsible for supervising junior staff including trainee Social Workers, providing expert advice and guidance where required to staff when needed.

In order to be considered for this position candidates must hold a Social Work degree, have a valid HCPC renewal, have at least 5 years PQ experience working in a Children in Need Team in a UK Local Authority, have excellent knowledge and experience of court work, have excellent knowledge of relevant childcare legislation and be committed to working with and safeguarding children.

The role is paying between a fantastic salary of £37,000 - £39,294 depending on experience + £1500 market supplement. In addition to this they are also offering a generous annual leave allowance, £6000 relocation package, career progression opportunities, excellent training, free car parking, local government pension scheme, £6000 retention bonus (terms and conditions apply), regular supervision, knowledgeable and strong management team and more

Harrow has excellent public transport links. It's served by the Metropolitan Line (London Underground), Watford DC Line (London Overground), and also by the National Rail services - Chiltern Railways, London Midland and Southern. Harrow Wealdstone station has a fast frequent train service with a journey from Harrow Wealdstone station direct to Euston taking just 13 minutes, and onward via nationwide links. There are easy Airport links to Heathrow, City, Stanstead, Luton & Gatwick.

No lengthy application forms will need to be completed until after a job offer has been made. All we require initially is a CV and the interview process is fast and simple and consists of an online digital interview followed by a face to face.
