Job Description

Network Healthcare is currently recruiting for a Senior Social Worker/Practitioner for the Help and Protection Team to be based within Children Services in Buckinghamshire. This is a full time permanent position based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire and an opportunity for an experienced Senior Social Worker to help safeguard and protect the children of Buckinghamshire.

The Safeguarding Service provides social work services for children and young people subject to Children in Need and Child Protection Plans, including intervention via the courts to determine safeguarding and long term permanence plans when required. The FAST and CATCH Teams work alongside the Help & Protection and Court Teams providing additional support, resources and expertise for children, young people and their families with the aim of keeping families together and avoiding children becoming looked after.

The work involved in this Senior Social Work/Practitioner vacancy is varied and involves managing all aspects of Child Protection and Court proceedings. The main purpose of this role is to act as the allocated Social Worker for children who have Child Protection plans in place and managing care proceedings whilst also undertaking court work. This will also involve managing complex cases and involve writing reports and assessments, working with looked after children. In addition to this it will be expected you will use your expert knowledge to help guide and assist other staff members, mentoring staff where required and offering advice.
In order to be considered for this position, candidates must hold a degree in Social Work, have a valid HCPC registration, have previous experience working within Children in Need/Child Protection Team, have court work experience, be able to work well under pressure, have excellent knowledge of relevant child legislation and have excellent communication skills.
