Location: Predominantly Walsall - With regular presence at two other sites

Compensation: Up to £45,000 depending on experience and car allowance of £4550

The role

As a Senior Health, Safety and Environment Advisor, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll maintain and improve the safety and resilience of the day to day operations to ensure everyone goes "Home Safe Everyday".

Day to day, you'll be working with site Managers and operational staff to ensure compliance with current legislation, customer requirements and Babcock HS and E (Health, safety and environment) polices and processes through site reviews and audits and providing feedback to operations upon how to meet Babcock HSE improvements. You'll provide expert advice to the contract on how to implement current and future HSE legislation, company policies and standards and Review risk controls and HSE safety arrangements.

  • Maintaining and improving the safety and resilience of the day-to-day operations over 3 sites
  • Conduct and coordinate HSE auditing and monitoring reviews along with reviewing operations and working collaboratively with other areas
  • Continually review current policies and procedures
  • Provide training and awareness sessions where necessary and conduct investigation of events across the business unit

Essential experience of the Senior Health, Safety and Environment Advisor

  • Proven in a Senior HS and E advisor role preferably engineering or high-risk industry
  • Ability to conduct investigations for events using industry best-practice
  • Approved auditor qualification (or has demonstrable skills and track record)
  • Competent risk assessor
  • Good working knowledge and application of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001

This is a full time role based predominantly at our Walsall site with a regular presence at our Bardon and Cheshire sites.

Qualifications for the Senior Health, Safety and Environment Advisor

  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety, Health and Environment
  • Minimum Grad IOSH and or registered on appropriate CPD scheme

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC and NVPP security clearance level for this role.
