Vision for Education is seeking to appoint a SEND Teaching Assistant 1-1 to join our successful supply teaching team and to work in a local primary school in Chesterfield. This is a full-time primary teaching assistant role, working 1-1 with a child in Year 4 class which will commence in Jan 2023 until July 2023.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are Level 3 Teaching Assistant.

The role

The successful SEND Teaching Assistants will be working full time in a local primary school. Working one to one with a child in KS2. Anyone who has worked with children with SEMH (Social, Emotional Mental Health issues) ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) EBD (Emotional Behavioural Difficulties) would be ideal for this role. The role requires a committed, empathetic, enthusiastic, and resilient Teaching Assistant with great communication skills that has experience working with children with behaviours that challenge. You will be able to engage children that have become disengaged from education and encourage and offer them support and guidance. You will work as part of a dedicated and committed team that have a child-centred approach to learning in all they do. This is starting in Jan 2023 and is due to finish July 2023, however the role could continue into the new academic year 2023/2024.

To be considered for the SEND Teaching Assistant 1-1 position, you will:

Hold a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Childcare.
Have experience of working as a Teaching Assistant in a Primary environment.
Be experienced in working with smaller nurture groups to boost attainment.

Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of school staff.
Ideally have experience delivering primary lessons.
