Job Description

Our client, a leader in their field is looking for an experienced Section Leader to join their well established and respected team. With an attractive salary offer of up to £37,500 with other additional benefits, this role offers progression and the ability to lead from the front.

Managing a team of permanent and agency personnel you will be delivering production to a plan that is on time and achieves or exceeds quality and customer requirements. The Section Leader will take ownership for driving specific improvement activities within areas of responsibility.

Your duties will include -

" Liaise with Quality Department on suspected quality-related issues.
" Assist with problem solving teams and exercises, producing effective solutions.
" Identify opportunities to reduce costs and implement solutions where feasible (continuous improvement).
" Manufacture and deliver product as per agreed production plan to ensure Company targets are met.
" Set and measure daily/ weekly output targets for the team.
" Lead daily cell meetings to highlight and resolve any issues within area of responsibility including delivery, EHS, quality or staff related topics.
" Develop and enable team to meet company goals and customer requirements.
" Actively align cell capacity and capability with customer requirements; assess skills/ capacity and implement cross training or recruitment programmes.
" Work closely with supporting functions to ensure the cell team is able to meet operational targets and continuous improvements.
" Lead/ train/ mentor team using Lean manufacturing techniques.
" To continue to develop a team culture which is customer focused with a primary emphasis upon improved flexibility of operations (indirect as well as direct).

Candidate Specification

" Experience of managing and motivating teams is essential. Experience in leading quality and other improvement projects through multi-disciplined teams is required.
" Broad understanding/ appreciation of key operational areas (e.g. quality, production engineering), combined with common sense and a numerical aptitude.
" Experience of implementing and driving through change in a lean environment.
" Experience of problem solving tools, 8D, Fish bone diagrams, Poke Yoke.
" Methodical, detail oriented and highly organised.
" A 'can do' attitude.
" Works quickly and accurately under pressure.
" Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
" Able to communicate at all business levels.
" A flexible and adaptable approach to changing situations and workload.
