Job Description

Are you a highly experienced manager used to managing large teams? Do you know technical and scientific service delivery like the back of your hand? Perhaps you have worked in pharmaceutical environment before? If so – we want to hear from you!

We are looking for a high-performance individual to join us at a capacity of a Scientific and Technical services manager at our pharmaceutical site in Stevenage. You would directly line manage six team leaders and a large diverse scientific team; this role will include elements of compliance and Health & Safety.

Main responsibilities
  • Ensure effective and compliant delivery of scientific & technical laboratory service operations across site
  • Service delivery in line with the relevant statutory (GxP) advisory and legal and contractual obligations
  • Engage in local customer interaction and foster long term profitable relationships
  • Actively seek and identify opportunities for business growth within the contract
  • Meeting financial and performance targets, ensuring action plans are in place and completed for any non-conformance
Ideal candidate
  • BSc/MSc in a scientific subject
  • Substantial experience in a management role with demonstrable experience of managing large teams
  • Demonstrable experience of providing a range of scientific & technical services ideally in a pharmaceutical environment
  • Excellent team working, interpersonal & communication skills
  • Highly committed, organised, self-motivated & able to manage a complex workload
  • Flexibility within the contracted hours
  • Strong IT skills
  • Comfortable chairing and facilitating meetings
  • Working to and achieving targets set
  • Experience of working to GXP regulations would be advantageous
  • A recognized Health & Safety qualification e.g., IOSH or a demonstrable knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
