£95.00 - £150.00 per day

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. 

To commence in September 2020  

The role - Science Teachers are suitably-trained education specialists who will be tasked with covering a variety of Biology, Chemistry and Physics lessons as well as General Science when permanent staff are absent. Planning and preparation may be required. This may also include practical lessons as well as theory-based learning. The Science Teacher's main job is to ensure pupil progress within Science, to aid pupils in reaching targets that they have been set, and to maintain a safe and suitable learning environment.

Duties may include:

supervising work that has been set in accordance with the school policy
managing the behaviour of pupils while they are undertaking this work to ensure a constructive environment
responding to any questions from pupils about process and procedures
dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school’s policies and procedures
collecting any completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher
reporting back as appropriate using the school’s agreed referral procedures on the behaviour of pupils during the class, and any issues arising
The role should not require any active teaching, marking or planning
Place of work - The role will be to complete assignments in Secondary Schools and Sixth Form Colleges across the Stockport LEA and further afield for those who may be happy to travel. The bookings will vary from ad-hoc daily assignments to permanent work depending on your circumstances.

The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: 

-You will need to have a minimum of 4-6 weeks of experience within a school environment in order to work with us.

-Qualifications you ideally may hold: Any recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE, BEd, BA with recognised QTS, etc.

-Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of education professionals.

-Have a passion for working with young people.
