Award winning financially secure Plc requires a highly commercial Sales Director with extensive multi site P&L experience. The Sales Director will be responsible for leading a field based sales team of 35 through 6 direct reports. The business operates a 20+ national branch network that delivers technical equipment, products, services and training into the Civil Engineering, Construction, House Building, Utilities and Water sectors.

The client is well established division of a UK Plc; highly profitable, growing and investing heavily in their People, Product and Services to improve their customer experience. They have achieved sustained growth over the past 5 years providing technical products, services and training to a broad range of Civil Engineering, Construction, House Building, Utilities and Water clients from their national network of 20+ branch locations. As a member of the senior leadership team, the Sales Director will play a key role in the ongoing development and review of the company’s business footprint including: sales, customers, product and strategy to ensure company objectives are achieved.
This high profile sales leadership role requires a strategic and commercial Sales Director reporting to the Managing Director. You will be seen to be a natural Sales Leader that will manage an experienced team of 4 Regional Sales Managers who in turn manage a field based team of 24 Area Sales Managers, a National Account Director and a Major Projects Manager who will all benefit from a leader that can develop, mentor, manage and motivate them to reach their full potential.
Your brief will be to grow and develop sales for this multi-site national business along profitable lines whilst delivering industry class leading standards of customer service through the management of the People, Product and Services.

This role demands a first class, commercial sales professional from a B2B multi-site distribution / services background operating in the Civil Engineering, Construction, House Building or Utilities sector with the necessary gravitas and leadership skills to add value to the team. As the Sales Director you will have a direct impact on the customer journey; you will be strong in terms of market research and business analysis and have a keen eye for margin control and profitability. You will have a strong track record of delivering sales growth via your team within a challenging commercial environment and demonstrate the ability to drive change and take your team on the journey to improve their performance.

Our client is willing to offer a highly attractive basic salary commensurate with experience, a competitive executive benefit package [executive car + pension + medical] plus a premium, yet realistic, bonus structure that will allow you to earn up to 50% of your basic salary
