An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sales and Business Development professional to join a globally reaching specialist engineering and manufacturing company in Plymouth.

This is a technical business development role that would suit someone with past experience in engineering or notable experience in a technical business development environment.

This will be a stimulating position that would be good for someone looking for a fresh challenge. The successful candidate will lead the drive to progress leads and develop existing business across a number of sectors including Offshore and Subsea, Engineering, Construction and Pharmaceuticals.

You must be able to show a successful track record of business development in terms of both developing existing clients and working with new clients.

As a baseline you will have the following duties:

*Identifying & development of new business opportunities, including lead generation
*Effectively qualify opportunities, fully understanding the sales process
*Build and maintain strong business relationships with customers
*Provide sales leadership throughout the bidding phase by working in conjunction with Proposals and Applications support teams
*Create and distribute monthly/quarterly accurate sales and activity plans
*Understanding of existing competitive technology and market pressures
*Effective management of sales pipeline to ensure accurate revenue forecasting
*Providing regular market intelligence and forecast information for customers
*Meet region sales revenue forecasts, KPIs and sales metrics
*Monitor customer issues, feedback, deadlines and deliverables
*Build customer profiles; identifying key decision-makers and buyers
*Prepare Regional Annual Operating Plan (AOP)
*Customer visits, client office based support and intercompany travel throughout area as and when required
