Job Description

Are you an experienced Catering professional who enjoys the leadership and the administration side of management?  Fancy not working unsocial hours all the time, even at Christmas?

A great opportunity to join the hospitality and catering team at Merville Barracks where you can contribute to providing our service personnel with the high quality facilities and services they deserve.

We have been working with the Ministry of Defence since 1986 and provide a wide range of services to support British servicemen and women serving in the United Kingdom and overseas

Our catering, retail and leisure facilities have been developed to combine high street style restaurants, cafés, bars, shops and leisure services

Main responsibilities

Main responsibilities include the following but not limited to:

  • ensuring our high customer service is upheld and delivered to all of our customers
  • in charge of a small team of retail/food service assistants
  • cash handling, banking, ordering stock, stock take, admin duties etc
  • ensuring food preparation, cleanliness & due diligence paperwork is adhered to and completed 
  • adhering to company policies and reporting to your line manager
  • acting up for/ in the absence of a supervisor/ line manager.
Ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should have the following skills :

  • proven track record in managing a small team
  • cash handling experience
  • good time keeping
  • working knowledge of Microsoft office / computer literate
  • outgoing/ friendly
  • customer focused
