Labour Resource Planning
My client is a multi-utility service provider to carry out the turnkey provision of multi-utility infrastructure and subsequent connections to new build housing, residential/commercial and Industrial projects. They are looking for a Resource Manager to ensure the effective and timely provision of labour resource to deliver multi-utility projects that meet customer requirements whilst working within the company's safety, cost & quality parameters. You would have 5 direct reports.
*Overall responsibility for the management and development of craft resource direct staff and embedded craft contractor team
*Day to day management and development of the Resource Scheduling team
*Day to day management and development of the Resource Supervisor team
*Promoting a zero accident/incident Health, Safety & Environmental culture, which will include managing a programme of audits and toolbox talks across the overall resources team
*Overall responsibility for the ongoing recruitment and retention of site-based staff & Supervisors, working in conjunction with HR
*Working with Heads of Construction to plan resource levels with the necessary skills required
*Managing training plans for Supervisors and site-based staff, ensuring required training is arranged and facilitated through the L&D Co-ordinator
*Monitoring use of and looking for opportunities to improve our scheduling software (BORIS)
*Providing monthly management KPI's on resources performance
*Any other duties as required, commensurate with the level of the role.

*Strong people management experience (Essential)
*Previous management experience in a utility-based discipline (Advantageous)
*A good understanding of the new connection utility industry (Advantageous)
*Previous track record of managing and delivering on multiple projects and the related financial performance

*Managing Health and Safety qualification, e.g. IOSH or NEBOSH
*Business leadership/people management qualification, e.g. ILM or CMI
*Previous utility-based skill qualifications (Advantageous)

*Ability to lead a team
*Strong communication skills
*Well organised
*Strong approach to customer service
*IT literate, to include Microsoft Office and scheduling software
