Purpose of role
As a Trainer as part of the Technical Rescue Team you will be responsible for delivering training to a high standard to Firefighters.
The majority of this training is delivered at one of our dedicated training centres but there is also a requirement to travel to fire stations and external training venues across London delivering face to face training and assessments.
Normal working patterns are Monday to Friday however there is the potential for weekend working up to a maximum of 28 days per year.

Key tasks
Delivering training to firefighters covering the following skills:
Front line and initial attendance RTC
Rescue Equipment - Broco hot cutting, winching, lifting, stabilisation and power tools.
Rescue Unit RTC techniques for entrapment and extrication
Line rescue level 1 and 2
Hazmat response
Carrying out assessments of skills
Provide feedback and support to delegates
Responsible for managing own 'Fit to Train' Passport
Support the Technical Rescue SME with updating course content and risk assessments
Staying current with client policies
Working with the design team where applicable to assist with the design, development and implementation of new training packages
Inspecting and maintaining equipment to a high standard

What do I need to do the role?

Qualifications

Essential
Rope Rescue Supervisor or IRATA Level 2

Desirable
Road Traffic Collision Technician
Road Traffic Collision Instructor
Heavy Rescue Technician/ Instructor
HMEPO/ Tactical Hazmat Advisor or equivalent

Experience
Operational or industry specific background in Line rescue equipment and techniques
Delivering training and assessing performance
Test and inspection of operational/ training equipment
Operational or industry specific background in RTC equipment and techniques would be desirable
