Marine Engineering & Systems - T31The Requirements & Acceptance Manager role is based within our Marine Engineering & Systems - T31business area
Babcock is rapidly establishing itself as an international Naval ship designer and builder. We have built on the success of the UK MoD Type 31 Frigate and have secured contracts for frigate export variants (AH140) with overseas customers. As well as supporting exports of frigates the engineering team is actively working on other ship newbuild and life extension programs around the world, from small fast attack craft all the way up to aircraft carriers.
The role
The difference our new Requirements & Acceptance Manager will makeAs a Requirements & Acceptance Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will provide requirements and acceptance domain expertise into complex programmes across the range of projects Babcock is involved in.
As a Requirements & Acceptance Manager, you will use your experience and technical ability to lead the development of the plans, processes, and technical outputs on any of our projects, adding value and exceeding customer expectations.
Day to day, you'll be accountable for the overall delivery of all project requirements and acceptance activity; co-ordinating and providing the focus for all engineering requirements and acceptance activities.
You'll also be responsible for ensuring requirements and acceptance activity is in accordance with the Business Management System and other project specific management plans.
You'll produce and own Work Package Descriptions, Plans, Schedules and Estimates for requirements and acceptance.

Essential experience- IT competent with strong organisational skills. Skilled in using development and management tools (e.g. DOORS, Enterprise Architect) and use of PC based office tools (MS Office, Project, Visio)
- Highly technical and well-qualified Systems Engineer having developed excellent analytical skills, with a pragmatic approach to solving highly complex problems using structured model-based methodology.
- Significant experience of leading systems engineering activities in complex enterprises, ideally with a defence background, typically at Systems Engineering Manager level.
- Honors degree in an engineering, science or mathematics based subject and considerable post-graduate experience to enable you to provide expert advice.
- Chartered Engineer, INCOSE or equivalent
