Job Description


We are looking for a talented Quality System Manager System Monitoring to join our UK team based in the South West of England.

Reporting to the Head of Quality System (UK) - to manage and lead the Quality Systems Audits and Investigations team with the purpose of conducting internal quality audits (some off-site auditing is required) and investigating incidents/customer complaints/QOR's. You will also provide support to the business through a series of secondary duties that include QN's, QDR's, MOR's, VOR's, MEDA, Inspection Stamps, Build Surveillance, expositions, customer complaints, and concessions. You will also, after a period of training, be expected to sign aircraft Form 59's on behalf of Quality and chair the Flight Risk Review Board on behalf of the Head of QS (UK). Interfacing with and guiding 2nd and 3rd party auditors and regulatory/customer representatives is expected. You will also deputise for the Head of QS (UK) during absences and act as the nominal Quality Manager for legacy AWIL contracts.

Key Responsibility Areas

*Annual planning and creation of an internal audit programme based upon CPR.061.14
*Ensuring there are sufficient trained (CPR.035.13) quality auditors and team leader auditors to fulfil the audit plan.
*Responsible for carrying out internal audits (once trained and approved as an auditor and thence audit team leader) in accordance with CPR.035.13 and CPR.061.14.
*Internal Audit planning/preparation, audit conduct, report writing, report distribution.
*Perform risk analysis of any non-conformances (NC) identified.
*Ensure completion of audit non-conformances and update the non-conformance management system records.
*Assist in the resolution of potentially contentious issues between LH major stakeholders identified through audit non-conformance, supporting a successful resolution of any issues, problems or challenges.
*Reconcile containment, corrective and preventive actions and accept/reject actions eventually leading to closure of the non-conformance.
*Report on progress and status of work to provide a clear statement of position, issues and actions.
*Representing the company during external (2nd and 3rd party) audits.
*Ensuring there are sufficient auditors available to guide external representatives around the business to facilitate 2nd and 3rd party auditing.
*Liaise with 2nd and 3rd party bodies during the planning preparation and closure of external audits.
*Ensuring external audit reports and findings are loaded to the NC Management Tool and any findings/actions are completed within the agreed timescales.
*Investigate other events and customer complaints brought to the attention of Quality Systems via QN, QDR, VOR, DASOR, MOR, SCAR, QOR, letter of complaint, or any other method.
*Create and distribute investigation reports.
*Scheduling and participation in Event Review Groups.
*Ensuring Corrective Action Boards are scheduled in response to customer complaints.
*Ensuring the following activities are performed in support of the business:-
*Inspection/ApOp stamp records and issue iaw CI ISO 12 series.
*R1 QN's (customer complaints e.g. QDR, QOR, SCAR, or other method) iaw CI ISO 14.5.
*Mandatory Occurrence Reports IAW CI ENG 1.4.
*Voluntary Occurrence Reports IAW CI ENG 1.4.
*Aircraft build surveillance.
*Maintenance of approval scheme exposition(s).
*Product Quality Alerts IAW CI ISO 14.6.
*Ensuring the day to day coordination of the concession process for UK product iaw CI ISO 13.3.
*To chair the Flight Risk review Board on behalf of the Head of QS (UK) iaw CI ISO 4.22.
*To sign the company Form 59, Certificate for Flight Trials, for quality iaw CI ISO 4.8.
*Act as the nominal Quality Manager for legacy AWIL contracts.
*Deputise for the Head of QS (UK) during absences.
*Plan own work and that of others identifying critical dependencies and risks, creating mitigation plans and reporting status.
*To take an active role in Business Improvement.

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required

*The job holder shall have a sound engineering background with experience within an Aerospace or Manufacturing environment.
*Educated to HNC level or equivalent.
*Good communicator with influencing skills.
*Experience of applying quality procedures and systems within an Aerospace environment.
*Detailed knowledge of the company Quality System.
*Broad knowledge of quality certification standards (e.g. EN9100) and approval schemes (e.g. EASA part 21G, 145 & M, MAA MRP Part 145, CFAOS, DAOS etc.).
*Integrity and professional approach, who is both self-willed and confident.
*Knowledge and use of root cause analysis tools e.g. 5 why, Ishikawa, 8D etc.
*Preferably a trained error investigator.
*Preferably a trained internal quality auditor (Lead Assessor).
*Broad knowledge of the business organisation.
*Experienced SAP user.
