Job Description

A little known treasure on the outskirts of Witney, this hi-tech precision engineering company is looking to hire a Quality Inspector on a permanent basis. Keep reading for more details and just wait until you read the benefits package! Could you be our newest employee?

You won’t have heard of us because jobs don't come up very often and you'll only have heard of just a few of our customers because we make some really specialist components for exciting projects which often go under the radar.

We're a friendly bunch who take a pride in the work we do and we make a decent cup of tea too!

Following the well deserved promotion of a Quality Inspector to Quality Team Leader, we’re now in a position to take on a new Quality Inspector to join our small team, in order to take on responsibility for day to day inspection matters for CNC machined components.

We would welcome an application from you if you are currently a Quality Inspector or perhaps you might be an experienced CNC Machinist with experience of using a CMM and you’d like to make the step into Quality Inspection.

Well organised and well-equipped shop floor

A mix of brand new, state of the art CNC lathes and mills and well maintained more conventional mills, lathes, pillar drills and grinding machine tools

Easy access to all the tooling and equipment you need to do your best work

Encouraging technical assistance always available

Recognised training and certification available

Checking the quality of CNC machined components which will eventually end up in many applications from chemical research, and medical science to industry and even motorsport!

Long term job security, working for a company creating products for a wide range of specialist industries (we worked right through the covid-19 pandemic and we didn’t have to make any redundancies either)

What experience will you need?
You’ll be an experienced Quality Inspector, comfortable completing first offs and in-process inspections, carrying out first article and final inspections against drawings. Or perhaps you’re an experienced CNC Machinist with experience of using a CMM and you’d like to make the step into full time Quality Inspection.

You’ll probably have more than two years’ experience of working as a Quality Inspector but if you have the skills already in less time, then we'll welcome your application too.

As an experienced Quality Inspector you’ll know this already but to be clear, you’ll be confident in using a range of precision inspection tools to check dimensions of machined components to include gauges, micrometers, vernier calipers, microscopes and similar equipment. You’ll need to have some experience of using a CMM too but you don’t need to know how to create a program because you’ll be given professional and recognised training on this if you haven’t.

You'll also know that paperwork comes with this job too, which I'm sure you're very happy to hear. You'll have a good idea of what you're doing where this is concerned but we'll get you up to speed with our processes too - perhaps you can even bring some ideas with you!
