The Quality Assurance Engineer role is based within our Devonport Royal Dockyard business area.

Comprising of 14 dry docks, four miles of waterfront and 25 tidal berths, Devonport is the base for numerous surface vessels as well as the base and refit centre for the Trafalgar-class nuclear-powered submarines. Devonport has also recently been selected as the base port for the Navy's new Type 26 frigates and will become the maintenance centre for the future submarine programme.

The role
The difference our new Quality Assurance Engineer will make
As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary where you will be significant in supporting the product safety, quality assurance and safe return of our nuclear submarines to base port.
Day to day, you'll provide quality assurance support so that Babcock activities delivered within submarine projects are fit for purpose. In order to achieve this, the team provides assurance that activities conducted on submarines meet the standards required.

Essential experience
A basic understanding of the "through life" documentation support in quality assurance deliverables.
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
