My client is designs and manufactures of specialist equipment and is a solutions provider for people or organisations which require complex care. They are a market leader in their field with ambitions to grow. They are looking to recruit a Quality, Health Safety & Environmental Co-ordinator to supervises and coordinates work systems to ensure that the products or services of the company meet the highest quality standards and that the working conditions of the company are favourable and safe.
This is a development role so candidate with a strong Quality background would still be considered as long as they are happy to undertake the HSE training/Duties
Main functions and responsibilities
*Determines the strategic direction and work priorities (in conjunction with line management) for the continuous improvement of the Factory and Sites QHSE management programme and systems.
*To lead, develop and maintain factory and Sites QHSE management programmes and systems in written format and recording and through face to face contact, communication and team briefings.
*To support line management in delivering QHSE objectives including the implementation of new or existing QHSE-related legislation, rules and Company standards
*Work closely with:
oEveryone within the company
oOur customer and contractors as required
oExternal auditors as required
*To improve the quality of our products, processes and documentation to improve the level of customer service and the efficiency of the company.
*Drive the internal quality system, with the management team, to ensure we comply in all facets with ISO9001 system including regular audits.
*To assist in retaining all current quality accreditations and work towards the attainment of new quality accreditations.
*Responsibility for ensuring that the Non-Conformance, Corrective Actions and Business Risk Assessment systems are functioning correctly in accordance with the requirements of the Quality Management System.
*Assists with tenders and PQQ documentation including documentation required for field service to access work sites.
*Improves the quality of the products and processes used to manufacture the products through continuous improvement measures and the investigation and close out to route cause of any quality issues.
*When required works with the suppliers to close out quality investigations to improve the supply chain.
Health, Safety and Environment
*To improve the performance of the company in all aspects of HSE management and to ensure the HSE management system is robust: to include fire prevention, health and safety awareness training, site inspections of both company and contractor's sites.
*To complete prevention inspections on a regular basis and ensure records are maintained.
*To investigate accidents and ensure all documentation is updated.
*To develop a monthly QHSE Communication Strategy for all sites and levels of staff, to include written information, tool box talks and management briefs.
*Full completion of duties of CDM Coordinator as required by the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2007 ( Training will be provided)
*Full responsibility for Company preparations for annual H&S audits
*Provides support and expertise to line management in incident investigation and reporting (including dangerous occurrences and occupational diseases).
*Facilitates all forms of risk assessment e.g. general, manual handling, COSHH, fire prevention and acts as a final authority where a specialist response is required in relation to risk assessments performed by others on site.
*Conducts occupational health and safety related surveys e.g. noise, lighting, exposure to chemical substances and makes associated recommendations.
*Monitors the Site "permit-to-work" system to ensure compliance with Company standards.
*Identifies new customer HSE accreditation that would be advantageous to the company.
Management and other tasks
*Management of quality or HSE contractors that may be employed for specific tasks from time to time.
*To work closely with HR to ensure training needs of staff are highlighted to their line management.
*To provide or co-ordinate training in QHSE skills as required.
*To work with all functions to improve the way in which KPIs are generated and monitored
*As part of the leadership of the company and to support other functions taking on other activities within the role-holders capability may be required.
