We are recruiting experienced Social Worker's (min 2 years previous experience) for Manchester City Council's Child Protection teams across a number of offices, where you will work alongside colleagues who are passionate about delivering the best possible service to vulnerable children. The role will run for an initial 3 month period with genuine scope for further extension. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in a fast paced environment based within a local authority and will have demonstrated strong case management skills. Duties for this role include:

Hold a manageable caseload and undertake assessments and reports
To play a key role in the development of the team and the service as a whole
To work directly with families employing a range of social work knowledge and skills to identify and assess individual children and young people
To act as a mediator and advocate on behalf of the child/ young person /family
Oversee the teaching and assessment of social work students
Help develop practise and strategy to reduce the number of vulnerable young people
