Job Description of a Purchasing Manager
The post holder will oversea and lead all purchasing activities managing a small team made up of Senior Buyer and Expeditor.
Reporting directly to the Operations Director the Purchasing Manager will control £25million spend, develop key supplier strategies and relationships, working to tight deadlines and drive improvements and support new initiatives.
Be involved with managing ERP system ensuring that it is utitilised effectively across the business. In the future a new system may be introduced so any experience of this must be highlighted at application stages.
The successful candidate will drive low cost sourcing, carry out supplier bench marking activities across key commodities and identify new suppliers.
Skills & experience of a Purchasing Manager
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have relevant suitable experience within a high volume manufacturer and be successful in leading and motivating a team.
Be able to manage a large workload, be an effective communicator, well organised, negotiate successfully and effective relationships.
