JOB TITLE: Covid 19 Public Health Intelligence Manager
LOCATION: Tower Hamlets, East London
START DATE: ASAP
DURATION: 12 months
PAY RATE: £34.50 per hour (Umbrella)

Role Purpose

In a borough with amongst the greatest public health challenges in the country, are you able to put your experience of public health data analysis to good effect to support the borough's response to the Covid-19 pandemic and its recovery?

Are you driven to reduce the health inequalities surfaced by the Covid-19 pandemic, both in terms of the differential impact of coronavirus across demographic groups, and the economic and social effects experienced by our most vulnerable communities?

The successful candidate will have experience of working as part of a team of public health analysts, delivering against a set of high quality outputs to tight timescales. They will have set up systems to collect, collate, analyse, quality assure and interpret data. They will have experience of using routine datasets and are able to work under your own initiative to apply the correct analysis to these datasets.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in our coronavirus outbreak response, in accordance with the surveillance priority within the Local Outbreak Control Plan. Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities are likely to include:

Support the Public Health Intelligence Lead and SPP colleagues as needed through emergent data requirements as part of the covid response
Assist in the compilation of: Weekly covid dashboard, public facing data on the website, disparities dashboard
Supporting tracking data for some bronze and silver groups
Maintaining an adults shielding list
Work with SPP to report against care homes, schools, high risk settings sitreps, and others as needed

Requirements

We will be shortlisting applications against the following criteria:

Higher degree, and/or qualification, and significant experience related to health information to Master's level.
Significant experience of working with multiple sets of health related data and information systems in health related organisations for at least three years.
Practical experience of accessing and appraising complex data sets.
Experience in the use of statistical and epidemiological methodologies for interpreting and understanding data sets in health organisations.
Experience in the development of systems for the inputting, storing and dissemination of information.
Strong written communication

We will further shortlist against a demonstrable understanding of the following areas, in relation to the TOWER values:

Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team as a self manager with high levels of motivation and a flexible approach to work.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in disseminating information via written reports and presentations to a wide range of audiences in terms of both size and composition
Understanding of the Equality Act 2010 and how it impacts on public health work
