The Project Planning & Assurance Lead role is based within our Submarine Support Engineering business area.

The difference our new Project Planning & Assurance Lead will make
As a Project Planning & Assurance Lead, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be supporting the Submarine Support Engineering (SSE) business area within Babcock Naval Nuclear to drive project delivery improvements through enhance projects controls within a complex and forward-looking environment.
Day to day, you'll provide support across all SSE contracts, leading project assurance reviews, health checks, and improvement initiatives, work alongside other project controls specialists and provide the interfaces into the central Babcock Group project controls team to ensure industry best practice is utilised across all SSE contracts and provide ownership of the local SSE planning tool (MS Project Server) to ensure this fulfils current and future SSE business requirements.

HNC or equivalent level of education
Project management / project controls qualification (e.g. APM Project PFQ/PMQ) or someone focused on continuous professional development and willing to work towards this and other training and qualifications as required
Experience of working within a project controls environment, in particular planning and/or scheduling
Experience of undertaking project assurance reviews and/or health-checks
The post holder must have good knowledge of project planning using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project, as well as strong Microsoft Excel skills. Working knowledge of PWA (project server), Power BI.
You will need to satisfy security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
