Job Description

Scanna is a UK manufacturer of postal and portable x-ray screening equipment in the fields of Defence and Security selling both directly to Government and Corporate end users and indirectly through a network of global partners.

Working within the Sales and Marketing Department we have a new opportunity for a Project Manager to join the team:- The role will encompass two main areas – to contribute to the success of winning tenders and to manage existing contracts we have in place. The key priority will be our Security and Defence market.  

 Key responsibilities

  • To contribute to the success of winning tenders and to manage the delivery of successfully awarded contracts.This will require an understanding of Government procurement processes both in the UK and overseas

Support to Tenders

    • Review of compliance matrices and identification of best technical solution   
    • Sourcing compliant components from the supply chain
    • Collation of costs and calculation of prices.
    • Preparation of Bid/tender documentation
    • Submission of tender documentation including on-line portals
    • Detailed review of Terms and conditions including payment terms
    • Identification and presentation of risks.  
    • Understanding of shipping terms and logistics so that costings can be calculated.
  • Submission of clarification questions
  • Co-ordinator of customer responses both technical and commercial (An owner) as and when they occur.
  • Preparation of Spares lists.
  • Familiar with assorted Government terms including Def-Stans, Mil-spec, AQAP and ISO9001

 

Post Contract Award

  • To manage the complete product delivery process in an accurate and timely manner. This includes co-ordination of various departments including production, software, logistics and documentation.
  • The ability to read, understand and to successfully manage a contract/ framework agreement
  • Management of the supply chain to ensure components are delivered on time
  • Preparation of maintenance and training documentation
  • Co-ordination of maintenance and training manuals
  • Co-ordination of customer acceptance testing and post- delivery support
  • Customer complaints coordination & resolution

Key competences

  • Dynamic, self-starter willing to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communicator- comfortable providing leadership and direction to a team of support staff
  • Commercially astute with experience of winning tenders and managing contracts for Government and Commercial projects in the Security and Defence market. This includes UK and International tenders.
  • Ability to accurately input data into company management systems
  • Preferably with a strong technical background and a sound understanding of X Ray technology and Digital Radiography
  • Strong, proven experience in contract and project management.
  • Experienced with co-ordination of delivery of technical products and comfortable in having technical discussions
  • IT literate including Microsoft Packages (XL and Word) and online platforms
  • UK based with the possibility of International travel to carry out customer meetings  
Project Management qualified eg Prince 2.
