The Project Manager role is based within our Devonport Royal Dockyard business area.

Comprising of 14 dry docks, four miles of waterfront and 25 tidal berths, Devonport is the base for numerous surface vessels as well as the base and refit centre for the Trafalgar-class nuclear-powered submarines. Devonport has also recently been selected as the base port for the Navy's new Type 26 frigates and will become the maintenance centre for the future submarine programme.

The difference our new Project Manager will make
As a Project Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary where you'll manage a multi-disciplinary project team, responsible for high, medium and low complexity projects, ensuring safe design and delivery, timely completion and cost effectiveness.
Day to day, you'll maintain high standards of delivery whilst supporting the delivery team with day-to-day management, process and financial control. Developing and maturing company, site capability and facility readiness initiatives and strategies to enable funding, design and delivery. Driving high safety standards and expectations across all areas of the business whilst being an ambassador for diversity and inclusion. Monitoring performance, resource and map capability to ensure the team is prepared for current and future demand. This will include development of individuals within the team to provide opportunity for future career advancement whilst also managing and overcoming shortfalls or poor performance.

Experience of managing a team with project delivery focus.
Experience with Infrastructure projects at all stages of the RIBA process.
Engineering Degree with a background in the management of a portfolio project delivery.
Relevant H&S qualifications
The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
