The Role

As a Project Controls Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. The Project Controls Manager will work closely with the internal teams, looking at project progress, cost control and forecasting, and gathering independent evidence to provide confidence to the client that the project is likely to achieve the success criteria and to enable PMO requirements to flow down into the supply chain.

Day to day, you'll be responsible for establishing/maintaining or adhering to the specific PMO governance, processes and procedures across a project. You'll establish the project baseline position in terms of scope/cost /schedule and the ongoing governance control of these. You'll manage scheduling staff to develop, manage, revise, and analyse integrated project schedules including all phases of project execution and manage project controls staff to provide cost management/change management/risk & opportunity management and document management provision.

Essential experience
Extensive relevant and recent experience in the same role, or equivalent, within a highly regulated industry
Full project lifecycle experience, from bid phase to close (design, procurement, manufacturing etc)
Understanding PMO toolsets (ideally Prima Vera), their processes, and the integration of these into the project
Awareness of various contracting methodologies (e.g. NEC3, NEC4 etc...)
Demonstrated evidence of APM competencies such as: Schedule Management, Budgeting and Cost Control, Risk, opportunity and issue management experience, Change Control and Team Management
Confident liaising with stakeholders (internal and external) and advising on best practice, reporting on project progression and cost/timing forecasting
You must have the ability to gain and retain SC clearance
