In September 2018 our client proposed an £11.7 billion five year business plan, for the period 2020-2025, to Ofwat. Since submission, our client has reviewed the plans from other water companies, received feedback from Ofwat and considered their own ambitions.
Before Ofwat make their final decisions on our client's business plan there are changes the client has already chosen to make. For example, to address observations made by Ofwat since submission.
This role is within the Financials Data Tables workstream who assist the clients Board in ensuring that the business plan meets the needs of customers, is high-quality and deliverable.
The role is required immediately through to 31 March 2019 to undertake a financial assurance analyst role, liaise with workstream leads and generally help to build trust and confidence in the refined business plan.

What will this role involve?
This unique opportunity will enable the successful applicant to combine their existing financial analysis and organisational skills with the opportunity to work with multiple teams including, reporting, strategy, audit, finance, alliances and operations.
Update to financial data table inputs, completing cross checks and analysis to ensure accuracy to source data.
Organise and coordinate material for Head of Department and Exec data table review sessions - schedule meetings, produce packs, record actions, file sign-offs, ensure electronic records are up to date etc.
Scheduling of data table audits and sign off meetings and booking of meeting rooms.
Keeping the accountabilities matrix up to date.
Compiling information packs for Manager sign off meetings.
Ensuring all tables, commentary and sign off forms are fully complete and uploaded to SharePoint 2 days before audit.
Ensuring auditors have the appropriate access to systems.
Ensuring all audit actions are closed in a timely manner.
Ensuring all progress logs are kept up to date.
Any ad hoc duties requested by the financial workstream lead.
What skills is our client looking for?
Our client is seeking a finance professional (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) who is detailed conscious, organised and are used to juggling several tasks at once. To be successful in this role, you must be able to work on your own initiative and achieve deadlines without compromising the quality of work. Work experience in a project/programme management office role would be an advantage.
As you will be collecting information from multiple teams you should be confident in liaising people face to face and over the phone. You should also be good at proof reading and correcting grammatical errors and have the ability to spot trends and outliers in numerical data.
This 3-month contract role is based in our clients Reading head office, with a day rate of up to £350 per day.
