Production Technician
Shropshire


Key Responsibilities:

• Support your allocated business area to achieve business objectives and targets
• Co-ordinate the collection, analysis and distribution of Production/Operational data and information from key equipment within the allocated Business Unit.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement activities for the allocated Business area
• Manage product and process test requirements as required by your allocated business area.
• Support your allocated business area to achieve business objectives and targets
• Support Ops Management team to achieve business objectives and targets, as directed
• Ensure all production related KPI information is displayed adequately for your allocated business area.
• Ensure production related information, record sheets etc. are available for all shop floor activities.
• Co-ordinate the collection, analysis and distribution of all relevant production data and information.
• Ensure availability and access to shop-floor audit forms, and collect completed forms for analysis.
• Support the business unit management team, as required.
• Co-ordinate the collection, analysis and distribution of Production/Operational data and information from key equipment within the allocated Business Unit
• Ensure that all relevant production record sheets are available and completed correctly on return, as required across your allocated business area.
• Ensure all the data from the production record sheets are inputted into the relevant database in a timely manner.
• Ensure all data from the production/ops spreadsheets is communicated with the appropriate Manager, Supervisor or Team of people, as required.
• Co-ordinate all actions resulting from the collection of production data.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement activities for the allocated Business area
• Support the CI team with appropriate and relevant CI activities.
• Manage product and process test requirements as required by your allocated business area
• Prioritise testing requirements in line with business needs.
• Communicate results as required. Monitor pass/fail rate of test results.
• Undertake any other duties of a similar nature consistent with the responsibilities of this post.

Person Specification & Experience:

• Knowledge of health and safety legislation as it applies to the role
• Successfully completed a RoSPA certified manual handling training course (or equivalent qualification);
• Completion of Health, Safety & Environmental awareness training;
• Competence in using Microsoft Office including advanced knowledge of MS Excel;
• Knowledge of castings;
• Strong engineering bias proven through either education or experience;
• Good analytical skills with a high attention to detail;
• Completed crane slinger, bobcat and/or overhead crane training (or other training required in the role), as necessary;
• Holds an NVQ level 2 certificate or above in a relevant subject (or equivalent qualification)
• Able to work on their own initiative or as part of a team
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written

• Timely & accurate input of manufacturing and process related data
• Timely & accurate publication of KPI information
• Timely & accurate management of test bars and test bar results
• CI activity tracking
