Part of a major international group, this organisation has a volume manufacturing facility producing high value products for the automotive industry. The plant is currently undergoing a period of transformation and investment to ensure the business remains competitive in an ever changing environment. As a result an experienced Process Engineer is sought to continually improve the business performance, lead NPI and customer satisfaction.

Job title: Production Process Engineer
Industry: FMCG manufacturing
Location: Dewsbury, commutable from Bradford, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Leeds, Halifax areas
Salary: to £45000 + benefits

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for all plant process engineering activities to ensure productivity and efficiency gains.

Key Responsibilities:
o Manage New Product introduction programmes incorporating PPAP/ APQP approval
o Monitor process performance and capability (Cpk/ OEE) and resolve concerns through Root Cause Analysis and structured problem solving
o Lead Process Improvement projects within milestones and budgets eg: OOE, cost management, failure mode resolution
o Creation and maintain Flow charts, PFMEA, Product & Process Specifications and instructions within Document Control requirements
o Contribute to, and follow, local EHS plans and procedures, ensuring trained personnel following safe working practices in a safe working environment
o Chair and facilitate RCA, FMEA and Improvement Teams

Qualifications and Aptitudes:

To be successful in this role you will already have several years experience working in a high volume manufacturing in a Process Engineer, Production Engineer, Industrial Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer capacity and will see this a tremendous opportunity to establish and influence the technical direction within a fast paced production plant.

o HNC/ Degree level or equivalent in Manufacturing / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or apprentice trained
o Fast pace continuous manufacturing process expertise, such as plastics, powder, textile, packaging, FMCG or Automotive industrial sector
o Ideally technical experience gained in thermally sensitive manufacturing processes coupled with strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulics and pneumatic systems
o Lean Manufacturing experience ideally Lean Sigma trained.
o Previous experience on a senior management team and proven experience of managing a quality function
o Proven knowledge of ISO 9001/ IATF16949 QMS and quality metrics
o Problem identification and problem solving tools
o Proven ability to manage capex budget, machine suppliers and liaise with customers
