The Procurement Specialist - Strategic Programmes role is based within our Submarine Support Engineering business area.

The role

The difference our new Procurement Specialist - Strategic Programmes will make

As a Procurement Specialist - Strategic Programmes, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will utilise your procurement experience and strong commercial acumen in making proposals that will enable a transformative approach to the delivery of procurement activities and project delivery. This will also include the application of best practice procurement principles and being able to effectively influence, in relation to leading change initiatives.

Day to day, you'll negotiate and manage subcontractors' relationships, leading high value, complex sub-contracts, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and communicate them effectively, understanding and negotiating terms and conditions, lead the change initiative and working well within the wider team as well as alone and often under pressure/ time constraints and applying best practise procurement principles/ techniques

Essential experience
MCIPS or equivalent qualification (preferred)
NEC contract knowledge (preferred)
Strong commercial acumen (essential)
Proven ability to negotiate and manage subcontractors (essential)
Understanding of terms & conditions and negotiating changes (essential)
Excellent supplier relationship management (essential)
Logistics outsourcing experience (highly desirable)
You will need to satisfy security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
