The Procurement Specialist role is based within our Through Life Equipment Support business unit (BU) Procurement & Supply Chain (P&SC) functional team - The Procurement & Supply Chain (P&SC) function is currently undergoing a change programme, which will enable the successful candidate to become part of and support the transition to a best-in-class function. This is an exciting opportunity to provide Procurement and Supplier Management services to support delivery of high-profile contracts.

As a Procurement Specialist, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. The successful candidate will be predominantly responsible for Procurement, Sub-Contracting & Supplier Management activity to improve contract coverage and extract maximum value from a category of spend with potential opportunities. There is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to deliver results that directly impact business performance.
Day to day, you'll be responsible for Strategic Sourcing, Procurement & Sub-Contracting activity to improve contract coverage and extract maximum value from a category of spend with potential opportunities.

This role involves some travel to our defence equipment site (such as Bovington, Warminster and Donnington) as required. The role will primarily be working from home with access to a Babcock hub.
Experience:
Evidence of previously working in an end-to-end procurement role, running tenders, negotiations, implementing new contracts and extracting value over the life of the agreement or comparable experience
Understanding and experience of working in a Defence environment is desirable
Member of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS) or working towards is desirable
Experience of acting as a focal point for relations with third party suppliers through Account Management or Supplier Relationship Management background is desirable
A willingness to collaborate across teams and varying levels of seniority to overcome supply chain operational performance issues
Must hold or have the ability to obtain SC Security Clearance
