An interesting role for a Skilled Plant Maintenance Engineer has become available working on a permanent basis with a globally renowned aerospace manufacturing company based in the Yeovil, Somerset area.

As Skilled Plant Maintenance Engineer you will be working within the UK team based at the Yeovil site in the South West of England.

*The Site plant maintenance is a small shifted team that supports the manufacturing of Helicopter transmissions systems, Composite Blade manufacture, Chemical process lines, Surface finish processes, Test equipment & Manufacturing support equipment within the Yeovil site.
*The role is to react to breakdown situations on key critical assets & process using diagnostic tools to enable repairs to be carried out in a timely manner.
*Operators are required to carry out planned maintenance activities, create & put in place planned maintenance schedules on a variety of assets that require special attention to meet NUCAP & COMAH requirements as well as key critical manufacturing assets.
*Operators require excellent communication skills as communicating with internal production personnel, external suppliers & Original equipment manufacturers service teams is a major part of this job role.
*This role requires flexibility in work ethic & the opportunity to train and become dual skilled in line with the training matrix, to enable a fluid proactive response minimising the downtime of all key assets.
*Operators will only be requested to carryout tasks within their competence and having been adequately trained, however there may be a necessity to assist in activities outside of their skillset.
*Operators must have the ability to be self-motivated as they will be expected to work in & support all departments of the business.
*Operators must understand and support KPI's that measure the performance of the Plant Maintenance Team & understand budget restraints, working with supervision to achieve best value for money in support of the business.
*Operators are expected to attend Mandatory Health, Safety & Environmental training & Health Surveillance programmes.
Key Responsibility Areas
Repair & Planned Maintenance of Company Assets. Including but not exclusively:
*Heat Treatment Furnaces.
*Chemical Process lines.
*Surface Finishing Processes.
*Test Rig Facilities.
*Heated Platen Presses.
*Thermal fluid boilers.
*Maintenance of CNC, NC, Inspection equipment and Conventional Machine Tools.
*Use of plant Geometry inspection equipment.
*General Factory Plant Maintenance Tasks.
*Welding/Fabrication to Support Manufacturing Operations.
*Blade Spinning Towers.
*Carry out Preventative Planned Maintenance tasks.
*Process line support activities.
*Assist with mandatory pressure system inspections.
*Compressed air supply equipment.
*Liaise with manufacturer's technical support teams for technical assistance in the maintaining of assets.
*Identify defective components and request via Original Equipment Manufacturers quotations for replacement parts.
*Continuous improvements to achieve compliance with the current Health and Safety requirements.
*Design & Implement improvements to Assets.
*Work with site contractors in maintaining Assets.
*Prepare Planned Maintenance check sheets & manuals to support the day to day maintenance of assets
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required
*Advanced Modern Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship (Level 3) or Advanced Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship (Level 3).
*NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering or NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering.
*BTEC National Certificate Mechanical or Electrical.
*Electrical 18th Edition (Primary discipline Electrician only).
*Electrical Test & Inspection.
*ACOP Industrial Gas Qualification.
*Understanding of Hydraulic & Pneumatic circuit drawings.
*Understanding of Electrical circuit drawings.
*Mechanical/Electrical Fault Diagnostics.
*Basic knowledge of Microsoft word, Excel & Outlook.
