Planning Coordinator

Our client is looking for a new candidate in the role of Planning and Logistics Co-ordinator to join their growing manufacturing company in Saffron Walden. The Successful candidate will be Responsible for the day to day planning and prioritisation of production in the Plating department, high volume and Project room areas and will work alongside the Operations Manager to reduce departmental issues and improve KPI targets by driving and measuring performance metrics.

Duties and responsibilities

Main duties:
• Plan all new orders for responsible departments ensuring on time in full is provided to the customer
• Liaise with relevant department supervisors to prioritise and ensure plans are adhered to
• Escalate any failures to plans to operations manager
• Communicate any changes to deliveries to customer services as soon as known
• Liaise with department supervisors to solve minor production issues, escalating to operations manager when necessary
• Deputise for Operations Manager as business requirements dictate

Other duties:
• Assist in KPI development, measurement and improvement, including OTIF, Cost of Scrap and Productivity
• Cover Low volume production planner during absence
• Chair daily production meeting and report to operations Manager on a daily basis
• Complete customer order books as required
• Ensure parts on hold are resolved as efficiently as possible by working with engineering and department supervisors.
• Drive and Manage Lean/ 5S Projects that arise
• Any other duties deemed appropriate by the management

Candidate requirements
• Good problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and independently
• Highly Motivated
• Good Microsoft office skills, especially Excel
• Strong team player

Advantageous knowledge/experience
• Previous planning experience
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems
• Lean principles experience or understanding

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £20,000.00 to £25,000.00 /year
