Job Description

Payroll Specialist

An interesting position for a Payroll Specialist has arisen working with an important client who are viewed globally for being at the forefront of their field.
As Payroll Specialist you will join a small, fast paced Payroll Team and will be happy and confident to work with minimum supervision able to pick the pace up quickly.
This role is based within the Finance Department, dealing with approximately 3300 employees and you will be responsible for dealing with all complex payroll related queries.

This role would be ideal for a true Payroll Specialist who is able to quickly build positive working relationships and is capable of running a large payroll with limited support. This will be a Fixed term Contract for 12 months.

Main responsibilities:

*Responsibility for the delivery of the monthly payroll run including all HMRC submission and the dispatch of all payslips.
*Manage all year end activities including P60's and P11D with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
*Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate reports including all 3rd party payments.
*Process manual calculations of pay as required; including correct application of Income Tax, National Insurance, Pension Contributions, Court Orders and any other statutory/non statutory deductions.
*High volumes of monthly input to the payroll system, which includes leavers and all payroll related changes.
*Work closely with the Time and Attendance system
*Ensure information held on SAP is current and accurate, enabling other departments to provide statistical data.
*Maintain confidential records, both paper and electronic, for all employees in accordance with both Company and Statutory regulations.
*Working closely with internal departments for example HR and Accounts.
*Manage complex queries both face to face, correspondence and telephone, providing a clear and concise response within agreed timescales.

To be considered for the position of Payroll Assistant you must have:

*Minimum of 2 years proven payroll experiences working in a similar sized payroll
*Proficient in HMRC submissions including Tax, NI, SSP, SMP, SPP and all year end activities including P60s and P11Ds
*Experience in resolving complex payroll queries in a face to face environment
*Strong excel skills

It would be advantageous to have:

*Experience of using SAP
*CIPP qualified /part qualified (Certificates required)
