Payroll Assistant (Temp)

Three Month Contact

£13.49 P/H

35 Hrs (Mon – Fri)

Job Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Payroll Assistant to work with a prestigious and widely known company based in Leeds city centre. The role will be dealing with low pay, high volume payroll. The ideal candidate will have worked with SAP and have at least five years payroll experience.  Alongside this, you will work well under pressure, be a natural problem solver and be organised through and through.

Key Duties
  • Ensure our people get paid accurately and on time each month
  • Perform Payroll administration for activity that has a legislative requirement
  • Perform National Minimum Wage checks
  • Maintain P11d data on a monthly basis
  • Tier 2 support for SMP and SSP calculation checks
  • Support the production of P11d on an annual basis
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing on a monthly basis in line with System Service Packs and releases
  • Provide excellent customer service to our people regarding their Payroll queries to help guide them through situations, providing the highest levels of resolution, support and customer satisfaction
  • Resolve or escalate Payroll queries via phone or email as required within the agreed SLAs and KPIs
  • Propose process improvement ideas which can reduce time, improve accuracy or enhance controls
  • Work closely with HR and Managers to ensure complete adherence to processes and collaborative working
  • Develop knowledge of William Hill’s SAP SuccessFactors system
  • Maintain well-organised and effective filing systems, databases, and operating procedures
  • Perform independent manual Payroll calculations to support our key controls and audit requirements
Essential Requirements
  • At least 5  years’ payroll experience and confident who is comfortable with high volume  (10, 000 +)
  • Strong working  knowledge of Pensions inclusive of Auto-Enrolment and the workings and rules that go with it
  • Extensive working  knowledge of Statutory Payments and how they are calculated
  • Experience of working with SAP payroll systems essential
  • Experience of P11d data collation and production of P11d within timescales
  • Have good Excel Skills (advanced not necessary but would be a bonus)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal With the ability to listen and connect with the customer
  • Strong analytical skills and a positive can do attitude
