What is the purpose of this role?
The temporary Payment Co-ordinator will verify DS contractors' payment applications accurately and within required time lines, and therefore helping Thames Water achieve its targets financially and for customer experience. Working closely with other team members to ensure that our outturn costs to the contractors are in line with the cost for the work ordered for clean water connections and standard mains undertaken through the current Framework Agreement.

What will this role involve?
Covering a range of responsibilities, this role will involve:
Managing contractor payments related to new connections and mains work in accordance with the terms, conditions and specifications of the relevant Framework Agreement..
Working through defined process and business rules to challenge payment applications, minimise variations and claims and to ensure that TW receives value for money from the service provider.
Working in conjunction with designers to put together fully justified cost breakdowns of service connections to produce final accounts for customers in line with the requirements of the Water Industry Act.
Strict adherence to business rules and system requirements to ensure all payments are made with the correct authorisation.
Provision of regular and ad hoc management reports to the Finance Team, Project Managers and the Service Providers to ensure a robust, customer focused service is provided.
What skills are we looking for?
This is an excellent opportunity to join the largest water company in England and make a positive contribution to the Developer Services team. You will be analytical and numerically minded and will be confident with MS Office, in particular Excel. You will have gained practical work experience within a busy and financially focused position and you will be able to work to tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will come from a finance background however someone who is able to prioritise and manage multiple workloads is key. Ideally experience with SAP will be desirable, but not essential. To be successful you will possess high attention to detail and will be capable of handling complex data.

This ongoing exciting temporary position is based in central Reading, close to the town centre and train station. We are offering a hourly rate of £13.50 depending on skills and experience.
