Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Parts Advisor to work on a permanent basis for our client SHB Vehicle Hire, a market leading national vehicle fleet management company. This position will be based at their Exeter depot.

The Technical Parts Administrator is responsible for running an efficient parts department providing excellent service to the workshop. He/she will accomplish objectives through the use of company purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization and security.

Key Tasks

*Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them.
*Strive for harmony and teamwork with all other departments.
*Work with the Service Manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for jobs.
*Prepare and administer an annual stock take.
*Direct and schedule the activities of parts department employees.
*Provide technical assistance to other departments relating to parts
*Ensure parts scheduled for return to suppliers are handled correctly and efficiently.
*Handle complaints immediately.
*Monitor and make recommendations for adjustment of inventory to minimize obsolescence.
*To ensure the surrounding work area is a safe environment for themselves & others
*Comply with site specific health and safety rules and regulations and ensure the correct PPE is worn/used.
*Operate effective administration and communication lines ensuring all paperwork is compliant and returned to head office in a timely manner.
*Maintain sufficient security measures to prevent theft of company/personal property during and after normal working hours.

Essential Key skills:

*Experience in a mechanical and technical automotive environment.
*Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
*Supervisory experience.
*Previous experience in an automotive parts department.
*Experience with Kerridge computer system.
*Professional personal appearance
*Hold a valid UK category B driving license (essential).
*Have a good understanding of transport & HSE legislation.
*Demonstrate good communication and customer care skills.
*A good standard of both written and spoken English.
*Good self-starter with the ability to multi-task.
*Ability to work well under pressure.
*Ability to work well as part of a team, and also under your own initiative when required.
*Be a well organised individual with excellent time management.
*Demonstrate a desire for self improvement and enthusiasm to learn new skills.
